24 Hour Musical: 10th Annual Charity Show

Join us as we perform "the best theatre event of the year" for the TENTH time! The 10th annual 24 Hour Musical - A mystery musical produced in just 24 hours! Admission is FREE with all donations going to our charity partner, South Main Chapel and Mercy Center! THE CAUSE: This year, the 24 Hour Musical is partnering with South Main Chapel and Mercy Center, another Anderson institution that is also celebrating its 10th anniversary! South Main provides outreach and support services to persons who are economically disadvantaged and many who are homeless. They provide five scheduled meals per week at their facility that are open to the community and on average serve 900-1,000 hot meals per month to an average of 500 different individuals. They also offer on-site mental health counseling, vocational rehab counseling, nursing care, transportation and housing assistance, addiction recovery referral, and other case management services. Finally, they make available to those they serve opportunities to use and develop their gifts in art, music and drama through a weekly art class, choir, and occasional drama presentations. We are passionate about using our unique talents to bring awareness and funding to this awesome organization! All proceeds from our show will go directly to South Main Chapel and Mercy Center. . . . . . True to the 24 Hour Musical name, the show that is being performed, as well as the cast list, is a mystery (to the cast and to the public) until the Kick-Off Party just 24 hours before showtime. Everything is truly learned, created, gathered, and rehearsed in 24 hours by an expansive team of volunteers. When the cast and crew come together for the first time, they will have only 24 hours to memorize lines, learn choreography and music, build sets, find/make costumes, market the event, and prepare every aspect of the production! The goal of the 24 Hour Musical is to create excellent theatre to better our community, while also building a creative atmosphere for artists to commit themselves fully to their craft. We do this by welcoming imperfection and building a relationship with our audience, an audience that understands passion means more than perfection. We've been narrowing down the show possibility list each week, leading up to the week of the show! The FINAL reveal will happen on Friday night, just 24 HOURS before showtime! This is a production that LEGITIMATELY comes together in ONE DAY! . . . . .
